Job Purpose

The Accounts Payable Specialist performs a variety of accounts payable, and/or other related data inputting/posting/maintenance/processing into financial accounts, related systems, and other informational databases. This position reviews information to input and determines correct procedures, inputs data, audit for accuracy, responds to, and research questions and resolves issues as needed.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for all Accounts Payables, including entering and paying invoices on time and reconciling to vendor statements.

  • Responsible for timely income and other tax payments to the applicable taxing jurisdictions.

  • Assist with period-end accounting tasks including account reconciliations/adjustments and other tasks as assigned.

  • Employ discretion and sensitivity with confidential information.

  • Assist in development and maintenance of A/P SOPs.

  • Process weekly check runs, including ACH and wire transfers, and resolve vendor inquiries.

  • Process employee travel reimbursements.

  • Provide 1099 records for tax department.

  • Support and embody the organizations' values, goals, and operating principles.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field, plus minimum of 1-2 years’ experience or equivalent work experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus.

  • Ability to work with variety of systems and databases. SAP knowledge is preferred.

  • Self-starter and problem solver with tolerance for ambiguity.

  • Strong general knowledge of GAAP required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and people skills.

  • Proven accuracy in work and attention to detail.

  • Professional oral and written skills required.

  • Must be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively and independently with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $64,896 - $81,120. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
